The beach has always been my safe place. It's where I feel the lightest, it's like I float when I'm there. I have not always been a fan of the sand though, even prior to me being a full-time wheelchair user. I always would sit in a bucket full of saltwater when I was very young, I refused to be in the sand. Now, thirty years later, I still have an aversion to the sand. Instead of not enjoying the sand etting where I didn't want it, my wheelchair just gets stuck.
I can still appreciate the beauty of the sand in new ways though... Like my drone.
I'm able to get a perspective that is worthy of studying, worthy of exploring and worthy of capturing. I cannot exprtess the freedom I feel when I ZOOM around the beach.
It's like I'm floating, again.
